I had the honor of hosting EU Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Samuel Alsopi and Ms Cristian Munduate at the Sokoto State Government House.
The European Union has launched a remarkable education and youth empowerment support program in our state. This program will play a crucial role in addressing the educational challenges we face and improving the education sector in Sokoto State. Recognizing the urgent need for improvement, my administration has prioritized the education sector by allocating the highest budget allocation.
We are committed to addressing the infrastructure and service delivery gaps that were present when we assumed office. To mitigate the impact of banditry on education, we have trained the Community Guards Corps to support the efforts of security agencies in protecting schools and ensuring safety beyond the educational institutions.
Furthermore, we will extend our full support to our partners in implementing the youth empowerment scheme, which has already commenced with initiatives such as leather processing, tailoring, and other occupations. Together, we can empower our youth and provide them with the necessary skills for a brighter future.
